Welder Training, Welder Test and Certification

Welding codes and standards address all aspects of design and fabrication of welded components, including welding procedure specifications, quality control and quality assurance during welding and necessary welding skills for a given welding procedure in all industry sectors. The relevant code is often specified by the end user or client as a contractual agreement in order to control the characteristics of the welded components that may affect the service requirements. Compliance to these welding codes is therefore a must.

Our welding inspectors are aware of what codes or standards are applicable in a certain area and understand the requirements of the relevant document. We can perform various qualification and testing services in order to verify that the welder or welding operator is capable of making welds within the scope of that standard or that the instructions in the welding procedure specifications are accurate.

Welding Procedure Qualification Test

We provide welding procedures for welding compliance with the American Welding Society (AWS), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Petroleum Institute (API), diverse pressure vessel regulations in Europe, such as PED, TPED, SPVD or the German pressure vessel code AD 2000-Merkblatt, ISO 3834, EN 1090, EN 15085, or DIN 2303.

Tatweer  can examine contract documentation & establish customer welding demands and requirements. We can design efficient weld procedures that will provide maximum approval range. We will examine and advise on the welding techniques being employed.

Welder Certification

Welder certification is based on specially designed tests to determine a welder’s skill and ability to deposit sound weld metal. The welder’s tests consist of many variables, including the specific welding process, type of metal, thickness, joint design, position, and others. Most often, the test is conducted in accordance with a particular code. Once welder test requirements have been established, we can carry out an assessment to evaluate the welders’ current skill level.

Welders are certified in accordance with the standards such as BS EN9606-1 2013 Qualification test for welders, ASME IX. AWS CWB and DIN. Welder certification test range in all conventional weld processes vary from Fillet welds welded in a flat position to pipes welded in a fixed 45° (HLO 45/ 6G) position.
